Multi-talented Seattle musician Navid Eliot, who you know as one half of Planes on Paper, bassist/guitarist for multiple Seattle bands, and frequent solo act, has a new project. Bodies on the Beach, Eliot’s newest three-piece band will be making their live debut at the Sunset on Thursday, January 10.
The dreamy new rock project came about after Eliot wrote songs which didn’t fit with the works of Planes on Paper. He initially considered recording the new material on his own but instead chose to reach out to Andrew Ginn (drums) and Evan Gackstatter (bass) because his drumming, “definitely left something to be desired.” It’s a dynamic trio and we couldn’t be more excited to have stumbled upon their SoundCloud.
Gackstatter and Eliot played in a previous band, A View of Earth from the Moon which was “fronted by one of Seattle’s absolute best songwriters, Jon Fickes.” Though Eliot had never played with Gunn, they were friends and mutually admired the each other’s musical abilities.
